Hello! My name is Emily. I am a 4th and 5th grade teacher. My school has been looping since 2009. That means I will teach a fourth grade class one year, and teach (mostly) the same group fifth grade the following year. I am very lucky to work with a terrific fourth and fifth grade team. Even though we have different teaching styles, we are very supportive of each other. We have the shared goal of making sure our students obtain the academic and social skills needed to be successful.

One of my hobbies and strengths is finding awesome activities and materials that support our curriculum. I wish I was creative enough to come up with these ideas on my own! The purpose of this blog is to share some of the wonderful resources, modifications I may have made, and the results my students and I have seen.

In addition to being a teacher, I am a wife and mother. My husband, Karl, and I have been married for twelve years and we have two fabulous children. Sam is nine years old and going into fourth grade. He loves to read, write, play games, participate in Boy Scouts, and play (beginning) piano. Rachel is three years old and she loves to create chaos. She also enjoys to read, play pretend, color, dance, and gymnastics. During the little amount of free time I get, I like to read, write, swim, and practice yoga.
